Decide what the sign should say first.
Write the wording exactly as you would like it carved. Check names, dates, spelling, punctuation, and abbreviations. If you have a preferred arrangement, put each line on its own line in the quote form.
Then choose the main message. Should the family name be noticed first? Is the business name more important than a tagline? Should an established date be a smaller detail? Plain words are enough; you do not need to choose a font or draw a layout.
If the wording is not settled, say what you know and where you would like help. The wording field is optional when you first send your idea.
Choose the details that make it yours.
Start with one main subject, then list supporting details. A favorite place, an animal, a hobby, or a meaningful date can give Nate a direction. It helps to say what you would leave out, too.
Use the finished work to explain a preference:
- Hulsey Family Lakehouse: a family name with a lake, dock, and pine trees. Describe the setting you like and what should change.
- Whitetail Waters: deer, canoe, mountains, and fish. Say which outdoor interest should lead your design.
- Chairman’s Lounge: a named personal space in black and natural wood. Explain the place your sign will represent.
- Personalized antler sign: names and an established date. Check those personal details if you are planning a gift.
These are finished customer pieces. Your sign will have its own wording and design.

The finish choice starts the conversation. Describe any color preferences in your idea. Custom paintwork is quoted separately.
Include the available space and how the sign will be viewed. For an outdoor location, describe its exposure: under a roof, on a covered porch, or open to sun and rain. Ask Nate to confirm the finish and care your sign needs before you order.

Have a photo, sketch, or logo? Mention it and what you want Nate to take from it. Nate can collect reference files during follow-up; the quote form does not upload files. Interactive samples and digital previews are optional.
An example starting brief
“I’d like a sign for our covered porch: THE MORGAN FAMILY, with EST. 2026 on a smaller line. We’d like pine trees and a lake, with the family name most prominent. I prefer a black background with natural wood details. I’m considering 24 × 14 inches but would like sizing help. I have a porch photo to share.”
This is an illustrative brief, not a finished customer project. Use as much or as little detail as you have. For a gift or event, add the date you have in mind so Nate can confirm what is possible.
